You Go Girl
I’m obsessed with seeing women encourage, support, and empower other women. It’s my favorite. We need more of it.
A while back I read a quote that said women are women’s biggest critics. To some degree I saw the truth in it. Through social media, entertainment television and hanging out; I’ve noticed that women will always have something to say about other women. Some will look at your following count before responding to your message. While some will look at the label on your pocketbook before building a friendship. This saddens me because WE should be our biggest cheerleaders. Instead of putting eachother down, we all should take pride in lifting eachother UP.
I feel bad when I see the women that are glorified and admired because in most cases it’s not your everyday woman. It’s an altered woman, a photoshopped woman, a woman that’s intentionally unreal. If she walked and talked like us and looked like us, there’d be no reason for an insecure woman to go and spend their hard earned money to mimic someone that doesn’t naturally exist.
Whether you’ve been following me for a while or you just started following me, you know that I take pride in uplifting other women. I dedicate time out of my day to specifically seek out and conversate with women. Not just in my comments, in my inbox, and on the street as well. Whether you have 10K followers or 100 followers, please know that you matter and you’re beautiful! I constantly cheer on other women and I love it when women do the same to me.
Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.
I challenge you to strike up a conversation with another woman that you don’t know at least once a day. Whether it’s on social media, while you’re out completing your day-to-day tasks or during your workday. If you like her shoes tell her. If you want to know where she purchased her dress, what type of perfume she’s wearing or her skin care routine; ask her.
This type of engagement makes them feel good and you as well!
