Are WE really IVYPARK? My Experience… The Good, Broke & Unflattering…
Let me start off by saying that I am a huge Beyonce fan and was one of the first in line to purchase IVYPark merchandise.
I had three pieces on my list (the track pants, the matching breakaway jacket, and the maroon breakeaway jacket). While I don’t have Beyonce’s shape and didn’t expect the clothing to fit me like it fit her - I knew I would be cute!
I woke up super early on that Saturday and figured I would drive to SoHo to purchase my pieces in person versus online (mistake 1). I arrived to Bloomingdales around 9:30am and there was no one waiting outside (seemed a bit weird). So I checked online to make sure the merchandise would be available at Bloomingdale’s and that’s what the internet said so I parked my car right in front and waited until the store opened at 10am. There was one other person also parked and waiting (so just us two).
Bloomingdales opened and we went in looking for the athletic wear and looking and looking… We found nothing. So, we asked a sales associate where the IvyPark merchandise was and she didn’t know what we were talking about (ugh). So we explained Beyonce line of athletic wear that’s being released today and she replied “oh we don’t sell that here”. Ugh -
“I HAD THREE PIECES ON MY LIST”
“THEN, it happened… a notification from ASOS that IVYPARK Merchandise was on sale NOW”
So I’m considering going to the 59th street Bloomingdales, but by this time (after 10am) all the stores are open and I’m sure it’ll be a hassle. THEN, it happened… a notification alert from ASOS that IVYPARK merchandise was now available. I sat in Bloomingdales and went crazy on my cell phone. I got my track jacket! Then I got a shirt (not on my list, but still it’s Beyonce). Then something came over me and I just started buying everything that was available. I bought the coat (not on my list), another long sleeve shirt (also not on my list). I bought the jumpsuit (also not on my list). In a matter of minutes, I purchased $600 worth of merchandise. I was excited and felt like I won something. I began to head back to my car and then the messages started to come in from my friends asking what I got and vice versa. We all didn’t get what we wanted, and although we got something, we were still on the hunt to get more merchandise.
I ended up finding the track pants on a website (and paid slightly more than the asking price) and then I found my track jacket on another site and was able to get that too!
Add another $300 to my spending for the day.
Honestly, I didn’t plan on spending that much and was caught up in the hype. I figured, worse comes to worse, I can sell the merchandise on eBay for a profit. Within about 7 days I received all of my items and what a disappointment. I had three items on my list (the track jacket - runs large, the track pants - no stretch, and the jacket - was sent an XL instead of a XS). The items that were not on my list; the coat (runs large), the shirt (ehh it’s ok) and the jumpsuit (fit ok). Out of the six items I purchased only one of them fit me decent.
I was disappointed to say the least. I sold the pants on eBay for double the price I paid for them. I planned to sell a majority of the rest of the items, but ended up being too busy to take pictures and post to eBay or Poshmark. Luckily, ASOS has a 60 day return policy and I was able to send back the coat for store credit right before the 60 day mark (still out of cash, but hey).
I contacted the company about receiving the incorrect order and they tried to rectify the situation, but couldn’t get a hold of the other customer and had no jacket to replace mines with. What a mess! I (JUST) returned the XL back for a refund.
WOULD I DO IT AGAIN?
Absolutely not! I wasted a ton of money and time on merchandise that I have yet to wear outside. Did you get any IVYPARK merchandise? If so, how was your experience? Did you wear your items outside yet or just to the living room like me.
